A Delegation from NESH comprised of Emeka Ugwu-Oju, Ugochukwu Okoroafor and Emma Agu on Wednesday, 12th December, 2018 visited the European Union (EU) Delegation to Nigeria and was received on behalf of the Head of Delegation by Filippo Amato, Head of Trade and Economics Section. Our discussion centered mostly on the Economic Partnership Agreement ( EPA ) between EU and West Africa and we agreed on more exchange of information between the EU Delegation and NESH.

On the first day of the 1st NESH Network Forum, a Charity Golf Competition was held at the 18 hole Ikoyi Golf Course, Ikoyi Lagos. The designated charity was the Joe Nwiloh Heart Foundation. After the competition, the Winner for the Men Category was Bolaji Martins and the Ladies Category was Mrs N. Moka. The Prize Presentation Ceremony was held at the Ikoyi Golf Course Club House. Mr. Emeka Ugwu-Oju, Founder, NESH presented the Prizes to the Winner, Men Category and 2 runner ups, while Madam Ngozi Ekeoma, Founder & CEO, Nepal Oil and Gas made the presentation to the Winner, Ladies Category and runner ups.

The 12th Oil Trading & Logistics(OTL) Africa Downstream 2018 held at the Lagos Oriental Hotel, Lekki Express Way, V. I., Lagos from 28 - 31, October, 2018. The OTL Conference gathers Operators and Stakeholders in the Oil & Gas Downstream Sector to discuss important matters affecting the industry in Africa while the Exhibition offers an excellent opportunity for Companies to showcase products and services germane to the Sector. HRM Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe,CFR, the Obi of Onitsha formally declared open the OTL Exhibition.
During the 2018 Awards Dinner, a major operator in the Nigerian Downstream Sector, Gabriel Ogbechie, Founder & Group Managing Director was presented with the prestigious,Merit Award in recognition of his impactful role in the Industry.

The 2018 Afreximbank Annual Meetings and 25th Anniversary Celebrations held at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, Nigeria from 11th July - 14th July, 2018. About 2,500 business, political and thought Leaders from more than 60 countries were in attendance and joined the Staff,Board and Shareholders in celebrating 25 years of financing and promoting intro and extra African trade. The President of the host country, H. E. Muhammad Buhari and the President of South Africa, H. E. Cyril Ramaphosa were amongst the high profile political leaders that participated in the Meetings and Celebrations.
The Panel Sessions during the Meetings examined the Bank's pioneering role in promoting African Trade, and also discussed the future transformation of trade and economic development across the continent including the impact of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AFCFTA). A major highlight of the Meetings was the Signing Ceremony of the Afreximbank Syndicated Loans of $650 million to Dangote Group and $750 million to Bank of Industry, Nigeria.
Davido and the Sao Vincente Mindelo Carnival Troupe were in attendance at the Concert and Gala Dinner to spice up the Celebrations.

Africa Finance Corporation(AFC) came into existence in 2007. It was set up by the Federal Government of Nigeria through the Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN) and its pioneer Chairman was the then Governor of CBN, Prof Chukwuma Soludo and the objective was for the AFC to become a key driver for private sector infrastructure investment across Africa. 10 years later, it was now time for stocktaking and planning for the future. AFC then took the decision to invite a group of private and public sector leaders to a Summit at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, Nigeria from May 15 - May 16, 2017.
The Summit named AFC Live 2017 had the theme ‘Building Tomorrow’s Africa Today’and featured distinguished panelists who led high level discussions on how the infrastructural landscape of Africa can be transformed. It was also an opportunity to celebrate the 10th Year Anniversary of AFC. Eminent personalities that graced the occasion included the Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, H. E. Prof Yemi Osinbajo, H.E. Olusegun Obasanjo,former President of Nigeria, H.E. Thomas Boni Yaya, former President, Republic of Benin, Hon Kemi Adeosun, Minister of Finance, Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, Governor, CBN and Prof Chukwuma Soludo, Former Governor, CBN and the first Chairman of AFC.

The Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC) is an annual gathering of Entrepreneurs, investors , researchers, policy makers and other Start Up Champions who gather to identify new ways of of assisting founders start and scale new businesses around the globe. The 10th Anniversary held in Istanbul, Turkey from April 16 - 18, 2018 with more than 2,400 delegates from 171 countries in attendance. The President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan addressed the delegates at the inaugural ceremony of the Congress.
Also attending the inaugural ceremony was the Nigerian Entrepreneurs and the Ministerial delegation led by Hajia Aisha Abubakar, Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment. The Nigerian Delegation hosted a Reception party at the Congress which was attended by Jonathan Ortmans, President, Global Entrepreneurship Network, who are the organizers of the Congress. The Nigerian Delegation is planning for the GEC to come to Lagos.

The SMW Lagos as planned by its producer, Afrika21 is an annual and week long conference that tries to provide ideas, trends, insights and inspiration to assist people and businesses figure out how to achieve more in a digital ecosystem. The Theme for the session was “ The Millenial Takeover: How Millennials are changing the financial landscape “. The NESH Evening with Dr. Okey Enelamah was designed to enable entrepreneurs to engage the Honourable Minister on the policy underpinnings for his Ministry in the 2017 budget and also share thoughts on their expectations. The interactive session was preceded by a cocktail and after the session, the entrepreneurs in attendance voted for the Nigerian Entrepreneur for the past decade out of a shortlist of 10 Leading Entrepreneurs. Mr. Aliko Dangote emerged as the winner of the Nigerian Entrepreneur.
