The 1st NESH Maritime Roundtable convened at the Shell Hall, Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos on Thursday, 13th September 2018 and the Theme was "Nigerian Entrepreneurs and Emerging Opportunities in the Nigeria Maritime Sector".
The Chairman of the Roundtable was the Retired Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Dele Ezeoba and the Keynote Speaker, Rt. Hon Rotimi Amaechi, Minister of Transportation, was represented by Dr. Dakuku Peterside, Director General, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency( NIMASA) who delivered the Keynote Address on his behalf and participated in the Plenary Panel Discussions as the DG, NIMASA.
A key objective of NESH was to get the premier Trade Bank in Africa, Afreximbank to get more involved in the Nigerian Maritime Sector and we reached out to the Bank to participate in the Roundtable. The President of Afreximbank, Prof Benedict Oramah took up the challenge and ensured the Bank’s participation in the Roundtable. The Bank’s Representative, Peter Olowononi, Manager Client Relations, Anglophone West Africa engaged participants on how they could partner with Afreximbank to grow Nigeria’s Blue Economy.
Nigeria Chamber of Shipping and the Ship Owners Association of Nigeria (SOAN) were amongst the Key Stakeholders that took part in the Roundtable.
